We are trained in observing you children and we keep records of their development and learning. Parents and carers are always welcome to make an appointment to view their child's records. All records are kept in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998.
Our admission policy is designed to enable and include the diversity of children within our community to have access to the full range of our services. Contact us for details of our admission processes and policy.
CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
Our policy line is based on the principle of inclusion of children with Special Educational Needs. Inherent in that is the belief that all children who attend the Centre must be supported to function as active members enabling them, in partnership with their parent/carer, to reach their full potential. We endeavour, as part of our broad aims, to work in partnership with parents and other agencies to identify and assess Special Educational Needs at the earliest possible stage.
KEEPING YOU INFORMED
The Centre aims to keep you well informed about your child/children and their life at the Smart Start Centre. Periodic newsletters and information are always sent to parents and carers.
At times we recognise some children and families may benefit from support from other external agencies to help children reach their full potential. We have established links with specialist agencies, such as speech therapists, social workers, doctors, dentists, road safety officers and educational psychologists to assist your child in all aspects of their individual development and well being if needed.
